Welcome to the Honey Hive

Our story

Tom and Shari Taylor started out with a small produce garden and some chickens about 10 years ago and selling at the local Greensburg Farmer’s Market. Over the years, their small garden has now bloomed into a small business.

Tom and Shari’s farm has expanded into now offering hand-picked garden produce, seasonal homegrown cut flower bouquets, fresh brown eggs, and bee products including honey and homemade pure beeswax candles and lip balms.

Utilizing mostly raised garden beds and composted soil to support an organic growing environment, they maintain a chemical-free garden. Our fresh produce offers lettuce, radishes, carrots, onions, peppers, tomatoes, arugula, kale, broccoli, cabbage, swiss chard, and green/ yellow beans.

An extended and very popular specialty has been our MicroGreens. We offer MicroGreen varieties that include radish, broccoli, mild mix, pea, cabbage, basil, cilantro, and beets.

Flowers are each handpicked weekly from our garden and are arranged with love to develop a one of a kind individual bouquet Incorporating both annual and perennial flowers, seasonal bouquets have included: tulips, daffodils, lilacs, cosmos, sunflowers, zinnias, ageratum, daisies, coneflowers, phlox, dianthus, gomphrena, sunball, dahlias, giant marigolds, beebalm, and peonies. Our Sunflowers won Best of Show at the 2022 Westmoreland County Fair. Several other flowers also received first and second places.

The Taylors are members of the Westmoreland County Bee Association and have beehives to pollinate their produce and flower gardens. This provides the opportunity to have happy bees produce honey and beeswax. We utilize a solar wax melter to separate the honey from wax to then produce homemade beeswax candles and lip balms.
